On Saturday April 11th, I'm doing a talk & signing event - my first event in Japan in over 20 years! The venue is the Museum of Roadside Art in Mukojima founded by my friend, editor & photographer, Kyoichi Tsuzuki. As this year marks the 30th anniversary of my career as an artist, I’ll be talking about my journey so far, including my work since moving to the US in 2009. I'm taking part in Giant Robot's group show, Rakugaki (which means "doodle" in Japanese). This year, I asked people on Instagram to suggest things they wanted me to draw.
Thanks to everyone who responded!

I wish I could have drawn all of the requests, but here are the three ideas I picked:
1. A frilly girl w/ a hime cut, maybe with bunnies or other plush toys
2. A woman with extremely long hair using a brush to detangle as she finds little aliens
3. Zombie Girls (I drew Aki & Akko , the zombie sisters from my comic, Cinderalla)

The show opens on Saturday, March 14, starting with art available online and an online tour at 12:00 PM. The gallery will open to visitors at 1:00 PM, and a public reception will be held from 6:00–9:00 PM. (I won’t be able to attend the reception )

LAのGiant Robotのグループ展「落書き（Rakugaki）」に参加します。 今年は、インスタグラムでフォロワーの皆さんに「描いてほしいもの」をリクエストしてもらいました。回答してくれた皆さん、ありがとうございました！ 

すべてのリクエストに応えられなかったのが残念ですが、今回選んだ3つのアイデアはこちらです。
1.フリフリの服を着た姫カットの女の子と、ウサギか何かのぬいぐるみ
2.超ロングヘアの女性がブラシで髪を梳かしていると、小さなエイリアン達が見つかる
3.ゾンビガールズ（コミック『シンデラーラ』に登場するゾンビ姉妹、アキとアッコを描きました）

展覧会は3月14日（土）にスタート。（太平洋時間）12:00PMよりオンラインで作品の販売とオンラインツアーが行われます。 ギャラリーへの入場は午後1時から、パブリックレセプションは午後6時〜9時に開催されます。 水野はレセプション不参加ですが、楽しいイベントですので、お近くにいらっしゃる方は是非ご参加ください！

The Haight Street Art Center's exhibitions team is hard at work installing “Junko Mizuno: Ink, Paper, Plastic,” which opens to the public on January 22, 2026, and runs through March 22, 2026.
The reception for the show is planned for Friday, February 6, from 5-9 PM.
Come celebrate Junko's first solo show at HSAC!

Mizuno’s work first appeared at the Haight Street Art Center in 2024 when she was a part of “Women of Rock Art.” This is her first solo exhibition at the center! For “Ink, Paper, Plastic,” Mizuno is showing dozens of screen-printed rock posters commissioned by Secret Serpents for bands like The Melvins, Faith No More, and Swans.
In addition, the exhibition will include giclees from her Food Obsession series; several giclee Tarot cards; an assortment of original drawings; and numerous books and other multiples in paper and vinyl.

Thank you very much to everyone who visited the group exhibition “MANGAKA-E 漫画家･絵 展” held at the Isetan Shinjuku Art Gallery last December, and to those who purchased my work there. 
It had been a long time since I last exhibited in Japan and while I felt a bit nervous, I was really happy that my two original pencil drawings found their new owners. I am deeply grateful for the warm comments and messages I received from visitors.

Happy New Year everyone! 
Last year began with some health issues and later came a leg injury, making it a year of many ups and downs. Still, there were plenty of bright moments,
including creating a new comic and having a group show with the great Japanese artists, Katsuya Terada & Rockin' Jelly Bean .
I’m truly grateful for all your love and support. Thank you so much! 
My first event of 2026 is an exhibition of my silkscreen gig posters at Haight Street Art Center starting later this month and I plan to finally complete my tarot project which I began three years ago. More details coming soon... stay tuned!

皆様、明けましておめでとうございます
昨年は体調不良で始まり、脚を怪我したりなどアップダウンの激しい年でしたが、超久々に雑誌に漫画を掲載していただいたり、日本で作品を展示する機会に恵まれたりと嬉しい事も多い一年でした。
こうして活動を続けていられるのも、いつも応援してくださる皆さんの存在があってこそだと、改めて感じています。本当にありがとうございます。
2026年は、3年前に開始した水野のタロット企画を完成させる他、日本での予定も色々入っていますので、体調に留意しつつ取り組んでいきたいと思います。頑張ります。本年もどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。
